Christmas at Hatton Adventure World is pretty magical in 2018.
All the usual fun of the farm attraction, which is a 20-minute drive from central Stratford-upon-Avon, has been given the Yuletide treatment. Added to that are festive family delights such as gingerbread decorating, magic shows, and the chance to write a letter to Father Christmas and make your own bag of reindeer food for Christmas Eve (including pixie dust and invisibility flakes, naturally).
But of course, Christmas at Hatton Adventure World is a great time to meet Father Christmas. I took my young family along to meet the man in red on Saturday and we had a terrific time.

The grotto experience at Hatton is enchanting. It starts with a leisurely stroll through festive scenes dotted with fairy lights, snow-loving creatures, the elves workshop and dozens of sweet-scented pines. You’re met by elves and ushered in to see Santa in his grotto. I won’t spoil any surprises, but there’s a magical key and a secret toyshop to unlock – but only for good boys and girls!
Because you attend the grotto on a timed slot, no-one rushes you along and you don’t have to stand in a long queue. It was a pleasant, seamless and – for the children – simply magical experience.
Hatton Shopping Village is open throughout the festive season, and the usual winter attractions at Hatton, such as the indoor soft play and guinea pig village (my children’s favourite spot), remain open.

To create your own Christmas at Hatton Adventure World, visits to Santa can be booked at weekends and every day from December 17 until December 24. Prices start from £18.95 for children (under 2s £9.45) and £13.95 for adults. Many time slots are sold out but there is currently availability on every day.
