Warwickshire Open Studios, showcasing Stratford-upon-Avon artists and others from around Coventry and Warwickshire

A chance to see Stratford-upon-Avon artists at work

There’s a rare chance to see Stratford-upon-Avon artists at work in June.

A fantastic month for events (see Stratfordblog’s top 5 events for June), locals and visitors to Stratford-upon-Avon in late June have the opportunity to meet artists in their workshops (sometimes their own home) to find out what they do and to see a range of work.

Warwickshire Open Studios is running the free event, bringing together 270 artists from 138 venues across Coventry and Warwickshire as part of their Summer Open Studios season, which runs from Saturday June 16 to Sunday July 1.

Where you can see Stratford-upon-Avon artists

Within a mere 6-mile radius of the town centre, there are 33 artists taking part in Summer Open Studios.

They will open their creative spaces on various dates throughout the event, so visit Warwickshire Open Studios and use the gallery map to see who’s open and when.

Stratford-upon-Avon artists taking part in Summer Open Studios include: ceramics artist Carey Moon in College Street; jeweller Alice Stewart, who works out of a quiet cul-de-sac in Clopton; husband-and-wife team Charlie Budd (photographer) and Jules Fallon (textiles expert) in Atherstone on Stour; and painter Anna Wouters, who is exhibiting at her address in Banbury Road.

Charity Escape Arts, based at The Old Slaughterhouse Heritage and Arts Centre in central Stratford-upon-Avon, is also taking part.

With hundreds more artists around Coventry and Warwickshire to meet, you can use the gallery finder to narrow your search to certain art forms, such as metalwork, painting, or printmaking.

What about parking and refreshments?

Many of the Stratford-upon-Avon artists taking part in Summer Open Studios are offering tea, coffee and cake alongside their work, with many featuring gardens in which to enjoy your refreshments.

Each listing on the website includes parking information and directions to the homes and workshops of the artists.
