The Stratford big wheel is a 40-metre Ferris wheel on the banks of the River Avon with six-seater viewing pods, offering views across Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond. Look out for The RSC theatres, the River Avon, Holy Trinity Church and, in the opposite direction from the town, the Welcombe Hills, topped by the unmistakable Obelisk.


This is the third time Stratford has had a big wheel, after the first in summer 2017. In 2019, the Stratford-upon-Avon big wheel entrance once again faces the river.

You’d struggle to miss it! The Stratford Ferris wheel is on the Recreation Ground. From town, cross the Tramway pedestrian bridge and take a right behind the rowing club. From the Rec, head for the wheel; the entrance faces the river.

It costs £5 for every rider over the age of 1 to go on the Stratford-upon-Avon big wheel. That’s an increase from 2018, when it cost £5 for adults and £4 for kids.
